Have you ever seen something and thought "Why didn’t I think of that?"? That’s exactly how I felt when Alan Pearce’s Ringle dropped through my letterbox. I normally use a light spinner as my bite indicator – not ideal, so when I received The Ringle I was rather exited.
When you look at it, The Ringle is a simple but brilliant invention. You simply whip or tape the little black hook to your rod, between the first and second rings, push The Ringle into the hook, then thread your line as normal, passing it through The Ringle as if it where a eye on your rod, set up your rig (I used a simple ledger rig), cast out, then unhook The Ringle and give some slack line so it hangs between 6" and 24" below the rod. The pack includes extra weight, so you can add it for the amount of sensitivity you need. You can even use it at night by inserting a starlite micro into the spare silicone blank which is also included.
When you have a bite, the indicator pops up, and you strike. When you’re ready to cast again, simply hook The Ringle back onto your rod and you’re away.
I found The Ringle very easy to use. I had two bites using The Ringle, and caught both fish. It is an excellent product and I would highly recommend it.
This is The Ringle, with the hook whipped on for extra strength
This is how it fits onto your rod – it’s very easy to set up.
The Ringle comes with full instructions, which are very clear and easy to understand.
