When I first showed the Nash Session Food Bag to a few friends, it got mixed reactions. It appears that unless you buy an item of tackle specifically used in catching a fish, some carp anglers are hard to convince!
Funnily enough, the most enthusiastic response came from my neighbour, Chris. Chris isn’t an angler…….but he does a lot of camping! He told me when I got the cool bag that I’d better watch that he doesn’t pinch it for his own use!
Keeping your food (and bait) cool is essential at any time of the year. It’s amazing how just the slightest ray of sunshine can turn milk off. Imagine what it does to your bait, too. An angler with a dodgy stomach and dodgy bait is going to struggle, so session anglers do tend to pay attention to this area.
The coolbag section of the Nash Session Food Bag is not only insulated, but it also consists of a detachable liner. This makes cleaning it a doddle.
I’ve used the bag on a number of sessions and it’s quite large. This means that not only can I get all my food in there (I’ll be honest and say that I put my boilies in, too, in airtight bags!), but I also have room for additional ice blocks. This prolongs the amount of time that the food will stay fresh.
Next to the coolbag is a stove section. This is pretty large, too, and I also use this bit for condiments. I like my food!
The bag also has side pockets, as well as mesh pouches, so there really is room to fit the kitchen sink. The only drawback is, if there’s a pocket, I tend to fill it. Therefore, it’s like ‘Gordon Ramsey Goes Fishing’ when I hit the bank now!
And the ‘piece de resistance’? It has to be the fold-down front, which contains cutlery, two plates, a mug, a bottle opener, a chopping board and even a hand towel! It would appear that Kevin Nash likes his home comforts on the bank, too! I’ll be honest, though, and say that I’ve swapped the white plates provided for my own green ones. I’m a bit sad like that!
The Nash Session Food Bag is priced at £49.99, with a smaller version at £39.99. It’s sturdy, should offer years of good service and is a very useful bag for any angler who likes to fish longer sessions.
