Nash bedchairs have always had a habit of pushing the boundaries, both in their design features and their size, with the Wideboy versions proving extremely popular with those who want or require a little more room for a good night’s sleep on the bank. The new Emperor bedchair from carp specialists Nash Tackle measures a whopping 198cm in length and 105cm in width, offering five star sleeping accommodation for the angler who really likes to kick back and relax! Of course, it’s really being pushed as a double, in order that those who take along wives, girlfriends, or whoever, can accommodate them in style.
It’s had a bit of ribbing on my own forum, as it would appear the last thing many would want to do is to take their other halves along with them fishing, but personally I think Nash are onto something here, as there are a great many anglers who I know would be able to do a good deal more fishing were they able to take along their respective partners and house them in relative comfort during their stay.
Many years ago, my wife used to accompany me on loads of weekend sessions and even spent a week with me fishing in Oxfordshire – with nights spent on a standard JRC bedchair! For me, it was great, because if she was happy to be there, then it gave me even more time to fish – how can that not be a win-win? The only reason she stopped coming along was due to the cramped sleeping arrangements.
Therefore, the new Emperor bedchair has to be a winner. It’s perfect for those with partners, those on long stays, holidays and of course provides a fantastic bed for those of a larger build. Let’s face it, how many times do you see lads fishing with their girlfriends out on the banks? Loads! So just imagine if each one of those bagged themselves an Emperor… Clever bloke that Nashy, eh?
As Nash themselves say, they believe the future of bedchairs is not in fact bedchairs, but in beds. Hence the reason the new Emperor comes as a complete sleep system with its unique twin duvet layering and quality mattress system – the whole shebang!
