If you’re thinking of buying a no-nonsense pole that puts power at the top of the agenda, I can thoroughly recommend this product.
I watched the carp in my local pool get bigger and bigger every year and having suffered the misfortune (or stupidity!) of having a section on my expensive 14m pole crack when I hooked into a real zoo creature, I decided there and then I needed a purpose-built tool.
However, I didn’t want to spend a fortune so I had a good look around before deciding upon the 6m Avanti Stand and Deliver Power Pole.
Two things attracted me (other than the £19.99 price!). One was that it promised bags of brute force and two, it cam with two pre-elasticated top kits fitted with 12-14 rated elastic. To be able to use it straight from the holdall was a real added bonus.
The proof of value, though, is in application. It was only ever going to be £20 well spent if it performed. Well, I’ve used it twice since arrival and, in a word, it’s brilliant!
The first time I presented meat down the edge and had a couple of real lumps – doubles that would normally have required very patient playing. With the Stand and Deliver I was able to give them some real stick and had them both in the net within a couple of minutes.
The second time was when I fished it at the full 6m, fishing corn over pellet and had nearly 70lb in a few hours’ fishing. The carp were smaller this time but what I liked was the feeling of control I had and the extra confidence in playing them more aggressively.
This really is a cracking little pole that’s light, stiff and very powerful. Brilliant value at £19.99!
