I had been put off buying a seatbox because of the cost – everything I liked seemed to come with a price tag that required a second mortgage! So when I saw the Avanti RDX3 Seatbox System going for just £79.99 I decided to take a punt. To say I was chuffed is an understatement.
First off, let me tell you what you get for your money. Starting from the top, there’s a padded seat with a recess that allows you to jam you pole in when feeding. Then there’s the main unit which houses four front-opening, medium-depth drawers and a full-width side opening deep drawer. But the storage doesn’t end there. You also get a sliding box underneath the box that is perfect for bigger items of kit!
Also included is a folding footplate, a square leg system that allows the box to be adjusted for use on virtually any terrain, padded bump bar and a spacious side tray. All this for less than £80!
Having owned one of the plastic Shakespeare boxes for many years, I really didn’t think I’d be able to afford to upgrade but I have – and I won’t be looking back. I’ve had mine for more than 12 months and, aside from being a bit muddy, it’s as good, and as functional, as the day I bought it.
