A lot of anglers spend their fishing holidays at places like White Acres but I’m still very much a fan of Ireland. And I’ve just got back from Cavan with my mates and put the Modulite to the test… and I’m glad to say it passed with flying colours.
The terrain on the loughs is pretty unforgiving but the leveling system was superb. I managed to get perfectly straight – essential when fishing long pleasure sessions – and was able to fish effectively. I remember the old days in Ireland I’d struggle with my mini Octoplus legs stuck on the side of my plastic Riva box, it was hopeless, but this is a giant leap forward in technology and comfort.
For the first few days I set my stall out on the feeder and with the side trays I had everything to hand from groundbait to casters, corn and maggots. The seat is well padded and there was none of that uncomfortable shifting from one cheek to the other.
As the week went on I fished long pole, short line for the roach and again the seat, designed for pole use, proved effective. I also bought the front ‘bump bar’ for the Modulite and used this as a rest between bites.
So what exactly do you get for your £100…?
It has three front drawers; three side drawers; adjustable leveling system with mudfeet; footplate; lever lock clips; a large capacity main compartment; pole winder tray; and padded shoulder strap. Dimensions are 44.5x33x41cm with a weight of 6kgs.
If you want a really good match box system with bags of room but haven’t got the money to spend on something costing hundreds of pounds, the Avanti Modulite is for you.
