Hook link coating removal tool from ACE (Advanced Carp Equipment)

Do you get as frustrated as I do with coated braids? How many times have you tried to remove the outer layer from coated, braided hook links unsuccessfully? I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve cut or frayed the inner material when using scissors or nail clippers, or cut my fingers when using non-existent finger nails!

When making up my rigs, and having spent ages getting everything just right, I normally finish off by cutting through the braiding or not taking off enough coating to allow me to finish the rig properly; ACE have come up with a dinky little tool to make stripping it back a lot easier.

Strip-EazeThe ‘Strip-Eaze’ is part of the fantastic ‘Elements’ range comprising of components designed to work together. It comprises an ergonomically manufactured handle with a stripping ‘blade’ set within to allow the tool to strip the outer coating away without damaging the inner core of the hook link. It is easy to use, the coated hook link is trapped by thumb pressure against the side of the handle and the coated material is then pulled into the stripping slot. By gripping the tag end and applying gentle pressure to pull the tool along the hook link, it strips the outer layer away leaving the flexible inner braid undamaged; simple!

Available from good tackle stockists or online from www.acecarp.com ‘Strip-Eaze’ is one of those great little additions to any tackle box!
