You don’t get much for free these days and when you do, there’s usually a catch!
So, with that in mind, it’s a pleasure to present to you The Guide To Sea & Coarse Angling in Weymouth & Portland, a free booklet designed to encourage you to visit this beautiful area and aid you on your travels. The only catch will be on the end of your hook!
Inside, you’ll find that the booklet is broken into two main areas – sea fishing and coarse fishing.
Those of you on holiday, or introducing youngsters to the sport, may well appreciate the section on junior angling, which highlights some suitable venues and illustrates the rigs that you may need.
Before you turn the page to the coarse section, note the useful local map, as it shows you where you can park! There’s also a list of all local sea records and, crucially, a tide timetable. Basically, the sea section contains all you need to get you fishing as quickly as possible.
The coarse section also contains information on fly-fishing. If you’re not a regular angler, please note the comment regarding licences – you must have one to fish! These can be obtained from the Post Office.
You’ll find a guide to local venues, including contact details and a brief description of each.
It would be well worth your time obtaining this booklet, as it also contains details of local accommodation. You may well find yourself having a read through and then rewarding yourself with that deserved short break! I’m not saying this because it’s free, but because it’s the sort of booklet you’d gladly pay for anyway!
To obtain your free copy, visit http://www.weymouth.gov.uk/angler.htm or telephone Weymouth Tourist Information Centre on 01305 785747 and tell them that you saw it on Anglers’ Net.
