All three ponds fished well again this week, for fly fishers and bait anglers. Many anglers bagged their limits with Rainbows, Blues and Brown Trout featuring amongst the catches. There is a good head of trout in all ponds at the moment. Most fish were caught using floating lines and sink tips or for bait anglers – on the bottom with ledgered baits.
The fishery is currently open 7 days, 8am-5pm and will start to open later for evening sessions at the end of this Month.
Fish of the week was a 9lb 4oz rainbow trout caught by J Scougall (Airdrie) in his bag of 4 trout for 17lb 12oz.
One £50 Red Tagged Prize Trout was caught by I Henderson (Falkirk) from the top fly pond.
Best flies this week: GH Damsel, Snatchers, Yellow Dancer, Silver Humungus, Butchers, Epoxy Buzzers, Diawl Bachs, fished with a floating line and long leader. Best Baits: Worms and Maggots, Powerbait and small Mepps spinners.
