The fishery is open for evening sessions 8am – 9pm 7 days.
All three lochans fished well again this week, for fly fishers and bait anglers. Many anglers bagged their limits with Rainbows, Blues and Brown Trout featuring amongst the catches. Average fish weight 3lb, with many specimen fish in anglers catch returns from 4lb- 9lb in size.
Most fly fishers caught fish using floating lines a few feet under the surface. The slight breezes have made for excellent buzzer fishing and top of the water sport using snatchers and hoppers. Best flies this week: Black Snatcher, Diawl Holo Bach, PTN, HH Damsel Nymph, Buzzer, Cormorant, fished with a floating line and long leader.
Bait anglers best methods was floated baits using bubbles and stick floats. Best Baits: Wasp Grubs, Brambling Worms and White Maggot cocktail
Two £50 Red Tagged Trout were caught by A Little (Caldercruix) from the bait pond, and D Gallagher (Aberfoyle) from the top fly pond
