The fishery is open for Fly and Bait Fishing from 8am till 5pm, 7 days per week.
Despite the weather an excellent week of fishing with many caught, and many more released from 2lb to 12lb+
The two fly only lochans and the bait fishing lochan all fished well with Rainbows, Blues and Browns are featuring amongst the catches.
Wellsfield Fishery is pleased offers Catch & Release Permits for Fly Fishing. Anglers will be able to fish on once they have caught their bag limit for the duration of their permits. We also now offer Sporting Permits (100% C&R).

Fish are taking teams of buzzers, Lime Green, Black, Traffic lights, Green Eggs. Fish are chasing lures and nymphs at the moment just under surface depending on weather conditions on the day and water temperature. Floating line with a long leader is working.
There are many specimen fish being stocked weekly at the moment at the fishery.
One Red Tagged £50 Prize trout was caught this week by lucky angler S Whitelaw (Denny) Middle Pond. Green Tag 4 hour permit prize caught by A Hamilton (Falkirk) Bait Pond
Most fly fishers caught fish using floating lines with a long leader. Best flies this week: Black/Green Fritz, Cormorant, Viva, Nomad, Yellow Dancer, Orange Nomad, Claret Damsel, Ally McCoist, Bruisers, Lime Green & Black Buzzers, Green Egg..
Bait anglers best methods: Maggots, Brambling Worms, Orange or Green Power Bait.
