With the appointment of the new management for the Lure team, Steve and Eric would like to receive notices of intention from experienced lure anglers wanting to take part in one of the most exciting events to hit the UK, the 2018 World championships held on Rutland Water in October.
Applicants should have prior knowledge of lure fishing, boat handling and experience in using electronics geared towards lure fishing. The squad will consist of a maximum of 20 members and we will be getting together to work as a team as soon as February 2018.
Steve Collett said “This is not just a fishing club, nor a jolly boys outing, this is a tear jerking pride moment, I want all of our squad to experience an improvement as a team, This is Team England, a force in the angling world, and I don’t want to be the San Marino of fishing, not anymore, things are changing around here, and on a wholesale level, we are here to compete, and compete well as a team, I want us to emulate the successes of our other team England angling squads.”
Eric Edwards said “Fishing for your country is the highest achievement in angling and to do so on home waters with family and friends looking on will be an experience any angler would cherish for a lifetime. We’re looking for a team that can compete against the best in the world and what’s more, we’re looking for a team that can win. The sport of lure fishing is growing in this country but we need the best possible result at the highest level to show the world that we are a force to be reckoned with. If you’re good enough we need you, the team needs you and your country needs you.”
If you are interested, and seriously interested in becoming part of the team, please email us at Sandra.johnson@anglingtrustnet. before Friday 26th January 2018.
