River Arun
Mark Dibble fished the River Arun at Greatham on the 8th March but it was a bit of a challenge. Mark had just two bites all day! The first came on the turn to run in which only resulted in a smashed maggot &, the second half way through the run in which resulted in a 1lb 3oz Roach, both bites were on feeder fished maggot. Mark advises the river looked quite good but the weather was awful & may have had a negative affect on the fishing. It definitely had a negative affect on him by the end of the day, by all accounts!.

Mark Dibble return to the Arun on the 9th March, this time electing to fish the river at Hardham. Mark advises the  was running out quite fast & he never had a bite until the tide turned to flow in at a much steadier pace. In the end he managed 28 fish (Roach, Dace, Bleak, Gudgeon & a Skimmer) on the incoming tide, but got only two more Roach after it turned to run out properly again. All were caught using stick float & maggot on a long rod. Mark also met fellow members Paul Deacon & Graham Stubbs on the bank. Graham had a similar catch to Marks but Paul managed a 20lb+ bag which included three proper Bream, some good Skimmers, Chublets, Roach, Dace, etc.

Fishery News – Goose Green
There has been some confusion in identifying the new ponds created between the main road and the Tench pond at Goose Green, It has therefore been decided by the committee to rename them as follows

Lake 2 / Bottom Lake, will now be called Heron Lake
Lake 3 / Middle Lake, will now be called Canada Lake
Lake 4 / Top Lake, will now be called Kingfisher Lake
These are all names reflecting birds associated with water that have been seen at Goose Green, the names of the other three lakes at the fishery Tench, New & Deep Lake remain unchanged. To help establish these names and to confirm the existing names of the other three lakes (Tench, New and Deep), purpose made name boards will be erected by the side of each lake showing it’s name
