The Angling Trust would like to announce the Preston Innovations England Feeder team for both 2018 and 2019 World Championships to be held in Italy and South Africa respectively.
Due to a change in timings brought about by FIPSed the 2019 World Feeder Championship in South Africa will be held earlier in the year with the proposed dates in February. With only seven months between the two championships, the tactical decision to pick the squad for two years was undertaken. Selecting the squad now will give the anglers time to practice together and build strong strategic plans for both events which the England Management think is the best way forward.
Tom Pickering England Feeder Manager commented “There are changes in both the team and management moving forward. Glenn Lawrence has stepped down as England coach so after seven successful years the squad would like to thank Glenn for all his services, hard work and commitment to the team and to wish him all the best for the future. Dean Barlow has now taken over that role and Will Freeman will also be working closely with both me and Dean.
Lee Kerry has taken over from Dean Barlow in the team and we look forward to working with him as his International experience will be important”.
The team is;
- Steve Ringer
- Phil Ringer
- Mick Vials
- Lee Kerry
- Adam Wakelin
- Rob Wootton
- Tom Pickering (Manager)
- Dean Barlow (Coach)
- Will Freeman (Assistant Coach)
The 2018 World Championship will be held on the Ollalanto in Italy which is a perfect venue and should suit the teams style of angling. The 2019 event will be held on the stunning Bloemhof Dam in South Africa where the team won a Bronze medal in 2016. On the back of this success the team are looking to utilise this experience to bring home the Gold.
