ANGLING TRUST
NEWS RELEASE
The Angling Trust is delighted to announce that they have secured a five year sponsorship deal with Preston Innovations Ltd to support the England World Feeder team under the Management of Tom Pickering.
Angling Trust are very excited to work in partnership with Preston Innovations, and this is a turning point for International angling with this very generous donation of £60,000 over the next five years. The new Feeder team will compete in the World Championships in Italy this year and will be part of the World Angling Games on 1st and 2nd September 2011 on the River Tevere in Perugia, Italy.
David Preston, Managing Director of Preston Innovations Ltd said, “A new International competition of this magnitude is extremely exciting and it was only logical for us to be interested in sponsoring the team.”
“As the Number 1 match fishing brand in the UK and very much at the forefront of developments in feeder fishing, we’re well aware of the significance our involvement adds to a competition like this. Feeder fishing is a growing area of the sport in Europe and this has been something we’ve been actively promoting for several years. The coverage of the event around Europe will generate huge interest.
“With Tommy Pickering leading Team England, I’m fully expecting an English victory. But win or lose, we’re positive that the event will be a global success.”
The new FIPSed competition will become one of the most important internationals in the world calendar, and the fact that the Angling Trust are able to send a team to represent England in the inaugural match is fantastic.”
Mark Lloyd, Chief Executive, Angling Trust stated, “We are very grateful to Preston Innovations for their generous sponsorship of the new Angling Trust Feeder Team England. It’s great to see the tackle trade backing our boys, who will be fishing in this competition for the first time this summer. Let’s hope they bring home the medals for their country. Without any government funding for the sport, we rely entirely on sponsorship to support the costs of putting England teams into global competitions like this. I urge any companies wishing to sponsor our unsupported teams to get in touch to discuss how we could work together.”
