The Hirst Park Trout Ticklers have recently held their annual trophy Presentation night.
Held at the White House Social Club in Ashington, Northumberland the evening was open to all members of the Club, their families and invited guests.
This year members of the Felling Fly Fishers were invited to present the trophies which were awarded to years 4, 5, 6 ,7 ,8 and 9. Trophies were awarded to High School Champion, Club Champion and Heaviest Fish Champion as well the Felling Fly Fishers Rivers Challenge. All school pupil members received certificates and medals for their efforts.
The Club Champion this year was Andrew Whitehall from Ashington and the Heaviest Fish trophy was won by Niamh Pirie with a fish of 3lb 8oz.
All young members received a certificate and medals for Fishing, Fly Tying and attending the Hirst Park Trout Tickers Introduction to Fly Fishing Days. The awards ceremony was followed by a raffle buffet and disco.
Trout Ticklers Chairman, John Whitehall said;
“The Hirst Park Trout Ticklers would like to pass on their thanks to everyone for their support over the season and to everyone who donated most generously to our raffle, including Hardy & Greys Ltd. We look forward now to a successful fly tying course held over the winter months leading into our next fishing season in 2010.”
