Gary Bayes is set to undergo the carp world’s most highly publicised transformation with a 60 minute makeover to raise money for an Essex children’s charity.
Gary, renowned as one of the industry’s least well groomed men and who thinks foundation is something under your house, has agreed to a head to toe makeover including hair, manicure, pedicure, make up, spray tan and clothing on behalf of the charity Little Havens.
Little Havens is one of only a few dedicated Children’s Hospices in the UK offering respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care to youngsters not expected to reach adulthood, because of a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. This is a charity close to Gary’s heart, having friends who have gone through similar ordeals. Charities like Little Havens are vital to those in need and only receive partial government funding, the rest requires fundraising.
Gary said, “Dig deep into those pockets, I really don’t like having my hair cut but it’s for a really good cause. I’ve talked to parents that have lost their children, several have fished my lakes. It really drives home the importance of everyday life and no matter how unfortunate you might think you are it’s nothing to the reality of knowing your child isn’t going to have the opportunity of a long life. Please help.”
Gary’s makeover is booked for Monday December 16th, 2013, at 6.30pm at Hudsons Barbers in Rayleigh.
