Fly Fishing enthusiasts have netted thousands for a children’s charity.
The event took place on May 17 at Lakedown Trout Fishery, Wealden Valley, East Sussex which is owned by rock legend Roger Daltrey CBE of The Who.
The charity day, in aid of The Children’s Trust, commenced with a hearty breakfast before the fishing got underway.
Everybody had fishing time at each of the four spring-fed lakes in tag-team events before lunch was served and the fundraising auction took place.
Karen Phillips, community fundraising manager for the Trust, said: “The event proved, once again to be a huge success! I would like thank all those who give their continued support to this annual event, especially Lakedown Fishery and those who donated some fabulous auction prizes.”
Money is still coming in but the event is expected have raised over £5,000 and will benefit The Children’s Trust, a national charity which provides care and therapy for severely disabled children and a rehabilitation service for children with an acquired brain injury.
