Following extensive renovations to multiple historic lakes on the estate, the Memorial Fishing Lakes at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, are finally open to the public.
Originally conceived over 200 years ago by country’s greatest landscape architect, Capability Brown, his plans have just been finally realised in line with the tercentenary of his birth.
The lakes have been stocked with 300 stunning Belleau Bridge rainbow trouts between 1.5 and 5 lbs in weight.
With incredible views from the lakes of the Castle, the fishery is offered as a day ticket venue. A full day ticket with a two fish limit is £25.00 and an evening ticket with a one fish limit is £15.00, with the catch and release after bag limit is reached.
Phil Burtt, estate manager at Belvoir Castle, commented: “We are delighted to be opening the Lakes to the public. It is an important time for Belvoir Castle with the anniversary of Capability Brown’s birth in 2016, and these lakes are in a setting that is truly unrivalled across the East Midlands. We look forward to welcoming anglers from all over the country to enjoy the estate and join in with the celebrations.”
Tickets are available to order in advance from the Belvoir Castle Estate Office on 01476 871001.
