Emperor Lakes has suffered under the onslaught of recent weather conditions to the point where the lakes have had to be closed to ensure the safety of anglers which must come before all else; thankfully, a change in conditions has since seen the lakes reopen and the fish are starting to come out regularly for visiting anglers….
Plymouth based Matt Holland chose to fish the Middle Dam swim on our Top Lake using Essex baits which resulted in a smashing fish known as the ‘Birthmark Mirror’ at a very pleasing 35lbs! This is another of our known big fish which is steadily piling on weight and will surely be approaching the magical 40lbs barrier soon, so we can’t wait to see it again later in the year. On our other day ticket waters, anglers are reporting good numbers of fish showing on the surface as the warmer weather continues, so our advice would be to pack some zig rigs and try to target fish in the upper layers.
Since our new pike water opened in December, several pike of note have been on the bank, Tyson Norton bagged a beautifully marked 17lb’er and Mike McNally also netted a fish of 18lbs. All enquiries for our pike lake must be made by calling 07814060147 to check availability.
The inclement weather also left the ground too wet to continue digging operations as we seek to increase our water portfolio; the current excavations to increase the area of Aimee’s Lake should recommence this week and further planning will hopefully see other pools established to give anglers even more choice when they visit Emperor Lakes.
The secret is out! Aimee’s Pool has started to produce some really big roach of over 2lbs which are worthy fish in anyone’s book; Paignton angler Dan Newman bagged up with quality roach using maggots and corn, but worm is also accounting for some beautiful fish, so why not come and try to beat your personal best?.
We are pleased to confirm that the popular Nash Roadshow will once again visit us in early August; during the weekend 3/4th, the Nash Team will be on hand to showcase the latest products and offer hints and tips to all our visitors. Competitions to win Nash tackle will only add to the fun, so keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
Our social media pages offer a fantastic way to interact with anglers and answers questions about bookings, bait and best pegs, (please come and join us) but why not check out our website at www.emperorlakes.co.uk for details? It gives all the information you need to plan your trip to Emperor Lakes.
