Despite the Spring blizzards anglers are still out in force to enjoy the Spring sunshine, fresh air and great fishing.
Barney Lynch, Conor and Eamon Mc Carron released thirty-one trout between them which took bloodworms, orange baby dolls, the ace of spades and the humongous flies. Portglenone’s Eunan and Cathir O’Neill accompanied by Gerry Lynch released four and bagged two which weighed 4lb. These anglers used the ace of spades.
Dungiven’s John Hasson and Martin Bradley used zonkers and cat’s whiskers to catch and released twenty trout between them. Dungiven’s Mark Irwin and Emmett Mc Closkey released two each which fell to a muddler and a fritz. Davy Brown (Belfast) released two which took a blob and a nymph. Magilligan’s Willie Mc Elhinney and son Liam had a lovely day releasing seven in total which fell to a hare’s ear and a dry fly.
Joe and Seamus Mc Guigan (Draperstown) tempted a lot of trout but to no avail. Donegal’s Vincent Harkin and Christopher Mc Kinley managed one trout which fell to a bibio.
