With the weather improving steadily larger fish are being caught at Cashel. Dungiven’s Kevin McCallion using a small yellow fritz banked 14lb 7ozs of pure class rainbow. He also released three others which averaged 3lb.
Jim Russell and Danny Walker (Monkstown) did extremely well also bagging three for home which weighed a total of 11lb 2ozs which fell to Walker’s Special.
Daniel Reilly (Maghera) bagged two for home weighing 5lb 7ozs and released nine others while Bernard Mellon also from Maghera released ten beauties which took buzzers.
Aidy Askin (Derry) released eight which took wee olives. Dungiven’s Martin Bradley and John Hasson did very well releasing eighteen trout in total which took the horned sedge and f-flies.
Pearse Doherty (Maghera) used six and released four which took buzzers. Seamus McCloskey (Belfast) released two and lost two which fell to Montana and olive dries.
Dungiven’s Jude O’Kane only fishing for a couple of hours released three, which took a pink buzzer, back into the lake. Derry’s Paul Bradley and Paddy McDaid bagged three for home which weighed just over 9lb.
Pat Campbell used the orange damsel to bag one at 2lb and released two back into the lake.
