Anglers are having a great time using dries at Cashel this week. Local anglers Dominic Magee accompanied by sons Ryan and Justin had a fun time with us tempting trout on dries. Dominic day out was a gift from his family for his birthday/wedding anniversary. Lisburn’s Brian Colligan bagged one at 2lb 7ozs which took a small black midge while Italian Flavio Bruni spent a few hours of his holiday with us bagging two trout weighing 4lb 3ozs which took a small green fritz. Derry’s Billy Haslett bagged four weighing 10lb 12ozs and continued to release twenty-one more trout back into the lake. Billy used small dries to make his catches. Brothers, Jim and Paul Ford (Derry) accompanied by Paul’s son, Adrian spent a couple of hours with a total of six trout released between the brothers. They were using daddies. Maghera’s Bernard Mellon released thirteen trout which took the f-fly while Limavady brothers, Paul and Nigel Rathfield, released two and four trout respectively using grey dusters and other small dries. Seamus Bradley (Swatragh) bagged two weighing 5lb in total but unfortunately had to go home early. He also was using daddy long legs. Andrew Hickey (Kilrea) released five nice trout which took buzzers and a few lures. Well done to all.
We are now taking group bookings for any angling club or corporate groups interested in a fun day. Catering facilities are available in the adjacent Cashel Fishing Lodge.
