Weekly report by Marlene Mc Laughlin – 21st November, 2010

Lovely crisp weather encouraged anglers to put their skills into action once again with us here at Cashel.

Liam Mullan, Mickey McKee and Mickey Forrest all from Limavady used assorted buzzers, bloodworms and minkies to make their brilliant catches.  A total of twenty-eight trout were released between them with Mickey McKee catching the majority.  Bernard Mellon (Maghera) released twenty trout at least with many being lost.  He was using buzzers too.  Ernie McCallion and Robbie Lyttle (Limavady) released five and seven trout respectively using green damsel, red fritz and black spiders.

Derry’s Aidy Askin accompanied by his son Oisin used nymphs and buzzers to make their connection.  Aidy released around a dozen trout while young Oisin had around six.  Maghera’s Joe Early and Gerard Quinn released three trout between them which took grey buzzers while Derry’s Paul Ford used similar flies to bank two beauties.

Pearse Doherty (Maghera) released two also which took the wee orange blob while last but by no means least Martin Bradley and John Hasson (Dungiven) released five and eleven trout respectively which took small dries and nymphs.
