Another weekend of unsettled weather with some very strong winds threw in to test our skills. With that in mind anglers were even more eager to give it a throw.
On Thursday we had a great day’s craic with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service from the Western Area Command. Nine anglers took part in the day’s fun with everyone going home with a couple of trout for tea. Organizer, Raymond Fleming, had a great time getting everyone together since some of the lads have retired from the service and came from different stations i.e. Strabane, Crescent Link and Northland to name but a few.
Terry Morrison bagged two weighing 6lb and 2.5lb which took a black/white chenille. He also released eight others back into the lake. Kieran Barr Jnr bagged two weighing a total of 4lb 6ozs and then released four more. David and Jonathan Lynch bagged two each weighing a grand total of 10lb 4ozs. Arthur Jameson bagged two averaging 2lb 3ozs and released one which all fell to a Montana nymph. Daniel Armstrong bagged two averaging 2lb which took a natural zonker while Raymond Fleming and Tommy Barr Jnr took two each home with Tommy getting one of 10lb. Tommy Barry Snr took one trout home which weighed 2lb 5ozs. Their friend Ciaran Simpson joined them for the day’s fun but unfortunately didn’t manage to catch any.
Well done to all!
