It was an extremly windy day for the latest Bradfield Road Angling Club’s match at Pine Lakes near Doncaster, which saw the venue’s match record broken with an all Ide catch of 119lb.
Former Youth International Jamie Harrison caught steadily throughout the match at 7 metres, fishing shallow with caster from peg 5. The Ide averaged 6oz but ran to 12oz.
Second place went to Craig Downes from peg 7 with 58lb 6oz catch which included Ide, Perch and 2 Tench on the short pole with maggot.
In third place was Martin Eddis with an all Ide catch of 48lb 2oz.
Pine Lakes is regarded as one of the best silver fish venues in Yorkshire and on the day it lived up to it’s reputation with an average weight of over 30lb per angler. Only one Carp was caught on the day but it tipped the scales at an impressive 10lb exactly.
1st Jamie Harrison Peg 5 119lb All Ide caught shallow on the pole at 7m but had to chase the fish out to 9m when they went shy. Fed 3 pints of caster with caster as hook bait.
2nd Craig Downes Peg 7 58lb 6oz Ide and Perch on short pole with caster and maggot.
3rd Martin Eddis Peg 2 48lb 2oz Ide in short pole with maggot and caster.
