The Angling Trust has launched a survey to gather opinions and ideas from match anglers about the Winter League.
The Winter League was added to the Angling Trust’s competition portfolio in 2011 after taking it over from the Angling Times and the Trust is set to look at how it can be improved to meet the modern day needs of match anglers.
The Angling Trust wants to increase satisfaction among existing Winter League anglers, increase the number of leagues and anglers competing around the country, and would like to hear from current and past Winter League anglers as well as those match anglers who have never taken part as yet. Clubs, Fisheries and League organisers are also invited to take part regardless of their previous experience with the Winter League.
Ben Thompson, Senior Competitions Manager said: “The Winter League is an incredibly important part of the match scene and it’s vital that we know what anglers would like to see change so that we can modernise it. I have spoken to anglers from around the country at various levels and the time is right to gather as many opinions as possible. We want to know what works, what doesn’t and how match anglers, clubs, fisheries and league organisers think we could improve the Winter League. Times have changed, and there are more demands on people’s time. What was fit for purpose in the past may not be so now. I would encourage anyone with an interest in match angling to complete the survey and the results will help us improve what we can offer.”

The survey will run from 2nd November until 31st January 2014 and can be found by visiting www.anglingtrust.net/coarsecompetitions
Participants will be entered into a free prize draw to win vouchers to spend at Nathans of Derby, 1st prize £150, 2nd prize £100. 3rd prize £50.
