Thirteen teams of six anglers consisting of some of the very best anglers in the country lined up to take part in this years annual Angling Trust Masters Championship at Mallory Park Fisheries, Leicestershire.
Fishery owner and loyal supporter of the Angling Trust, Roy Marlow thanked all the anglers for being great ambassadors for the Angling Trust. In return everyone put in a fantastic angling performance for their respective teams.
Seventy-two anglers fished in not the kindest of conditions with little wind on many of the lakes making the residents more difficult to catch. This top class field still managed some exceptional weights with 30 anglers weighing in more than 100 lbs each.
Top individual on the day was Joe Carass (DHP) fishing for Press Pack with a magnificent weight of 198 lbs 14 oz. Joe caught mainly on the pole on Glebe Pool 6.
It was a close call with Steve Ringer pushing him hard on Glebe Pool 1 with 190 lbs 12 oz for the second highest weight.
Roy Marlow commented that Team Daiwa were outstanding in their performance and deserving winners.
Anyone who caught more than 100 lbs fished exceptionally well, but anglers with much less commented how good a day they had.
