When travelling light, we usually need tackle that is light, compact and, most importantly, up to the task. As a roaming angler tends to fish for fish that he or she can see, rods can generally be shorter. In fact, when you’re pushing your way through vegetation and fishing from spots that many other anglers avoid, such as those with overhanging trees, they often need to be!
Shorter rods are also very well suited to smaller venues, such as commercial carp waters, where long casts are not necessarily needed and peg space can be tight.
Here’s what it says about the TFG Compact Commercial Feeder Rod on the Fishtec website:
“The 8′ Compact Commercial feeder is Matt’s very own pocket battleship. This rod gives you key advantages when fishing typical commercials, shorter in length to make life so much easier in the often tight and confined pegs, while our exclusive new technical advances have allowed us to produce a rod that is shorter and stronger yet still maintaining a beautiful playing action.”
At the time of writing, this rod has a recommended price of £69.99. You can check out the current deals, as well as viewing a video of Matt Hayes talking about this rod, by clicking here.
