Sitting here in the sweltering heat, it made me wonder if anyone made a cheap fishing umbrella these days. Thankfully, I can report back that Ron Thompson do.
I already have a brolly – it’s a cheapy that I think I got from Argos (who may well still sell them!), many moons ago. I also have a ‘proper’ brolly system shelter from Trakker, which I use for my session carp fishing, so I’m not actually in the market for an umbrella. My online search was purely prompted by comments I’d seen from anglers about how hot it is. A simple fishing umbrella can be a lifesaver in this weather!
Being online a lot, I see various shelters for sale, but apart from eBay, most companies don’t seem interested in the bog-standard stuff that we all used to think was great, back in the day! Although I haven’t used this Ron Thompson Lightweight Umbrella, I’d take a punt at it for just £20. There’s also a larger one available for £23 – CLICK HERE for details.
* Incredibly lightweight
* 100% waterproof
* Pole fits easily into banksticks for easy attachment to the ground
* Super tough green cover built to withstand years of use
* The best value umbrella available
As I’ve stated, I don’t own one and can’t vouch for that, but it may well be worth investigating further if you’re after a cheap fishing umbrella. I’ve had other Ron Thompson kit and it’s served me well.
