Featuring a cold forged aluminium spool with AR-C line management that’s suitable for both mono and braid, and Varispeed line lay which prevents fine mono and braid bedding in when under pressure. For demanding match anglers there is also a high speed (6.2:1) 3000 double handle model that is not only perfect for float and feeder fishing but also for fast retrieve lure fishing.

Verdict
We first got our hands on the Exage a good few years ago and quickly fell in love with them. They are so well suited to stalking and surface fishing for carp that we got rid of our baitrunners for these sessions as there’s simply no need for them with the awesome fighting drag system fitted to the Exage. The specialist angler’s dream – our advice is to get one, or even better… get two!
