Yay! As I’m sat here writing this, it’s the 1st of December. And, as it’s the 1st of December, that means I’m OFFICIALLY allowed to mention Christmas. My wife said so.
As anglers, people often want to buy us something for Christmas and birthdays that reflects the hobby that we are so passionate about. Unfortunately, having wandered into a High Street store, this usually translates into an ‘I Love Fishing’ wallet, or worse. I’m certainly not the ungrateful type, but it is a shame when people spend money on something that you know full well was a complete rip-off.
Over the coming few weeks, I’m going to do my best to pluck a few gift ideas from the web and feature them on Anglers’ Net. Obviously, they won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I hope they give some people a few ideas.
If there’s something you see that you like, please send your family a link to the page on Anglers’ Net. The more people that read these articles, the more I’ll be inclined to write tem (hang on, that’s probably a good reason NOT to send your family and friends links….).
First up are these carp prints by the artist, David Miller.
I’ve been aware of David’s work for quite a few years. I should be aware of it – I own a few of his prints! David is a fantastic artist and has produced some great pieces. He’s not carp-obsessed, either. CLICK HERE and you can find plenty of work by him, including some beautiful pike and perch prints.
But, back to carp….
Although most of the work that David produces is in colour, I’ve chosen a couple of night time images to show you here. Why? Because, for me, they really stand out and have an added classy feel to them. Carp fishing in the moonlight makes my hairs stand up on end!
A lot of my carp fishing is done at night and we can only imagine what is going on beneath the surface. David’s carp fishing art is the stuff that dreams are made of! If only it could be like this every night….
There are three night time carp prints currently listed on the TackleBargains website. I’ll mention a couple here, but you’ll need to visit their site to see them all. First up is the one called ‘Midnight Carp‘. With a common and a mirror on the munch, as some carp anglers would put it, and a big mirror lurking in the background, I want to cast a bait at ’em right now!
The print itself is approximately 15″ x 9.5″ (38cm x 24cm in new money), with a nominal margin, and is printed on high quality art paper. I’m pretty sure any carp angler would admire it.
Midnight Carp is just £25 and you can read more about it by CLICKING HERE.
The second print I’d like to mention is ‘Night Fishing for Carp in the Lillies‘, which again features three carp (different fish – I’ve checked the scale patterns, and I bet I’m not the only one who does!). This one is quite a bit larger, at 22″ x 14.5″ (56cm x 37cm) approximate, again with a nominal margin, and excellent value at just £29.94.
As mentioned, there is a third print. That one is called ‘Night Fishing For Carp‘ and is equally as good!
CLICK HERE to view all three David Miller night time carp prints, along with some of his other work.
Non carp-angling fishermen and women may want to take a look at some other excellent fishing artwork, which you can find by CLICKING HERE.
