November’s competition winner will have the choice of 10kg of the new Starmer Baits Coconut Fish boilies or nearly £100 worth of Nash IC-1 and Nash Terminal Tackle. It is open to anyone (members and non members) submitting a digital photo taken on any Luton AC controlled water and it can be of absolutely anything eg a sunset on the canal, a nice fish, wildlife etc. The photos submitted cannot be over a month old, the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result. So get snapping and forward your pictures to our usual email address catchreports@lutonac.org or send from your mobile to 07704462635.
I have two spools of Nash Missing Link Silt Braid in 15lb and 35lb bs to give away worth almost £28 to the person who can guess how many Nash baits are in the glass (no trick question, they are all Nash!). Entry is via email only to carpreport@talktalk.net. Include your guess and your name and full address. Only one guess per person will be allowed, multiple entries will be disqualified. In the event of a tie the first correct/closest entry received wins, closing date for entries is 5th December 2010 at midday. If you want to see a large picture of the glass then go to my Facebook page at the same email address – CLICK HERE (you need to be logged in to Facebook).

The Luton AC Board have voted to allow keepnets to be used again on the canal during the months of April and May which is great news for the local match scene as well as pleasure anglers.
With immediate effect Luton AC members can no longer fish the River Great Ouse at Haversham as the land has been sold.
I went to see Mark Woolley and Sam Caton who were fishing the Grand Union Canal near Leighton Buzzard on Sunday and despite very cold conditions both caught with Mark having a 14lb 4oz common and Sam a 13lb 8oz common with both fish coming to small Starmer and Nash hi viz pop ups.
On the South Lagoon Eric Jones fishing with his own Red Eric Baits beat the club 14 year old mirror record with a 35lb fish which was witnessed by the bailiff and weighed on 3 sets of scales, we hope that Eric will make a claim for this superb fish. In the same session fishing peg 1 Eric landed commons of 25lb 8oz and 17lb 12oz.
Paul Webb fishing peg 1 caught a 6lb tench which Steve Briggs had pike of 10lb and 5lb plus a 6lb zander, Sue Sayer a 6lb pike and 6lb zander, Robert Langdon a 9lb pike while Tom Mitchelson caught the largest zander of the week at 15lb 10oz along with 5 other zander and 6 pike.
There are still plenty of roach to be caught from the South Lagoon and Simon Kitchener had 8lb of quality redfins in a short session.
On the nearby River Great Ouse Mark Simmonds managed a nice zander of 9lb 12oz.
At Beckerings Reservoir Mick Stringer caught Little Gertie at 29lb along with six doubles to 18lb. The Big Common has come out at 28lb 4oz to an angler known to us only as Simon. James Muncaster banked 8 fish to 18lb plus 1 tench with plenty of bream to 7lb falling to anglers fishing the tip.
