Beautiful weather had brought the anglers out once again in great numbers to Cashel.
The Roe Valley Residents’ Association from Limavady had a fun day with us. Everyone had a great time although not everyone caught trout. Bernard (Mellon (Maghera) released around thirty-three trout using buzzers and CDC’s. Gary Gaile and Philip Glenn (Articlave) released two each which took wee dries while Kevin Conway and Patrick Mc Cullough (Loughgiel) banked eleven between them taking two home which weighed 4lb 4ozs. Gregory English (Draperstown) banked three while his mate Mark Brown (Belfast) banked one trout which fell to olive buzzers. Franky Murphy (Feeny) bagged one for home weighing 2lb while Willie Mc Elhinney and son Liam (Magilligan) bagged five and four respectively with one big one at 9lb which took a black buzzer. John Hall (Campsie) released two which took a shipman’s buzzer while Derry’s Paul Ford and Jimmy McCay banked five between them using daddies and other wee dries. Young Adrian Ford (Derry) unfortunately lost his three trout. Allan Mc Clune (Dungiven) bagged two at 4lb 4ozs and released one which John Hasson (Dungiven) released at least half a dozen which took the f-flies and small black gnats.Well done to all!
