NashTackle Marketing Manager Alan Blair visited the Newport Pagnell Sherington Rd Pits arriving at 4am after a long drive from his Essex home. Alan fished 15mm Nash Amber Strawberry boilies on a critically balanced rig and landed a 17lb common within 30 minutes of arriving. He then had to wait until 10.30am for his second fish which was a respectable 14lb common.
Spare a thought for local angler Mark Woolley who has fished through the winter and was on the same lake as Alan. Mark hasn’t had a touch for months and blanked again while Alan caught. Mark then moved into Alans vacated swim using the same bait and rigs only for the River Ouse to burst its banks and flood his swim, taking him 2 hours to retrieve all of his tackle. Mark then went to the Beacon AC Mount Farm Lake for the first time only to be told by the bailiff who came round after dark that the swim he was fishing was where a body was found and it had been there for three weeks! We wonder why Mark says he didn’t get alot of sleep! However we reckon Mark is in line to catch a 40lber or win the lottery!

The date is still to be finalised but will be sometime in March/April and we will let you know in this column. Visit the Browns web site www.brownsofleightonbuzzard.co.uk
