As the traditional closed season approaches, many river anglers are out there as I type, cramming in as much fishing as they can in the last week. They know that, after that, 3 months of anticipation for the new season will follow.
Those three months are usually spent sorting old tackle, buying new bits, wandering along rivers and the like. Anything to do with fishing is classed as time well spent.
