Catch Reports
Goose Green

Goose Green was unusually busy for a Saturday  (14-4-07) , as most people tend to stay away from the fishery on a work party day, the majority of the anglers present concentrated on Lake 2, and from what was seen they all had a good day, with carp, bream and loads of silvers being caught on a variety of different methods.

Lake 4, was the haunt for Goose Green regular, Trevor Mordle, Trevor fishing pellet on the hook, presented under a well shotted pole float at four meters was catching skimmers, bream and some of the roach that were introduced to the lake that morning, his total weight for the day is unknown at this time.

Society Webmaster , Mark Emery, “Spike” has made the most of his recent week off by enjoying the recently opened Lake 2 at Goose, further to the below, he fished the waggler on the Lake on Thursday with Maggot on the hook and caught a multitude of small silvers, Adam Tester was also on the lake and was to found fishing the pole tight to the island, Adam was using pellet on the hook and caught many silver fish and a lone carp, which gave him the right run around on his No10 elastic.

On the Friday, Spike was to be found fishing the Lake again, this time electing to use a 3m whip and maggot, during a three hour period, Spike caught over 10lb of roach, rudd and skimmers, moving on to the long pole, he fished tight to the island, but only had two bites on corn and missed both of them.

Fishing to Spike right was  Terry Stillwell, who with yet another new rod, cast a feeder/small bomb tight to the far bank features with corn on the hook, Terry beat everyone on the lake with four carp, the best topping the scales at just under 10-0-0.

Also on the lake, was young Simon Parker, who was fishing with grand parents Ray & Sandy Emery, Simon fishing the short pole and alternating between maggot and banded pellet on the hook, caught roach, rudd, skimmers and single bream for a net in the region of 8-0-0, Grandmother, Sandy, caught a single carp of 4-0-0 whilst Grandfather Ray, was content catching small silvers up in the water on a T3.

Trevor Mordle, was also to found on the lake, but away from other anglers (he doesn’t want to share his secrets), Trevor was witnessed to be swinging in rudd & roach, with just the occasional better fish being netted.

Over on Lake 3, work party stalwart, Les Taylor, was to be found fishing his favoured method of the waggler, Les alternating between punched meat and maggot hook baits caught, bream, carp and a sack full of silvers for a net in excess of twenty pounds, all of Les’s fish were caught less than two rod rod lengths out.

Webmaster Spike fished the recently opened Lake 2 at Goose Green today  (11-4-07), fishing the long pole towards the island, Mark caught three carp (2 commons and a mirror), Mark caught the carp on maggot hook baits and also included a shedful of roach, rudd, small skimmers and a solitary chub.

Moor Farm

Goose Green fishery Manger, Ray Clark tore himself away for a change of scenery this past weekend, Ray elected to fish the top lake at Moor Farm, using nothing more than the top kit from his pole with punched bread on the hook, Ray reports a catch of 65 crucians to 1-0-0, tench to 6-3-0 and an awe inspiring roach of 2-0-0.

New elected Club Captain, Ryan Giles, sends the following report from his day at Moor Farm.

Fishing the middle lake with Paul Holden & Graham Stubbs, Ryan reports that all three anglers enjoyed a successful day’s waggler fishing, all three anglers used maggot both as feed and hook bait, Ryan topped the list of the days catches with a net comprising 1 carp and a shedful of roach & rudd for 10-6-0, Paul caught crucians, tench, roach & rudd for 8-6-0, whilst Graham had to be content with 3 carp for a total net of 6-2-0.

This past weekend saw many anglers at Moor Farm, on the top lake Anthony Tester fished paste & pellet in the margins for a net of crucians & tench for a total bag of 30-0-0, Gavin Tester fishing to Anthony’s left could only watch as Anthony bagged 8 fish to Gavin’s one, Gavin ended up with a bag of approx 8-0-0, on the opposite bank Ray Clark was to found fishing bread punch on a short pole for a 20-0-0 bag of tench & crucians.

On the middle lake action was just as furious, with Ryan Giles catching carp to mid double on waggler tactics, the action on the bottom lake was just as fast with carp to 18-0-0 being caught on a variety of different methods, the most popular being floating bread or pellet.
