If you haven’t visited Amazon for a while, you may well be very surprised at just how big their store is these days….I know was! And the beauty is that you can now browse Amazon from the comfort of Anglers’ Net – click here to see what I mean.
From Book to bread makers, DVD’s to digital cameras and compact discs to cat beds, they really do have it all! If you can’t find something on there that appeals to you, or to whoever it is you’re buying for, then it’s time to take your PC to the dump!
As an angler, you’ll probably head straight to the fishing books. I just did and found 9346 items – thank goodness for their excellent search engine. Even the most dedicated bookworm would have trouble narrowing that selection down without it!
But we don’t JUST go fishing, do we? Browsing by category, you’ll find all manner of books on there; Everything you’ll find in the High Street, and then some. You’d have to have a store as big as the whole High Street to fit this range in.
Amazon has long been known for its vast music collection, too, but recently I’ve seen more and more reference to its electronics. By this, I mean digital cameras, iPods, printers (including cartridges) and the like. The prices are very good and Amazon’s reputation is second to none; something that is important when buying online. Many lesser stores promise the earth, yet deliver nothing. With Amazon, you get amazing prices and a service to match. In fact, the only time they’ve failed to deliver something for me is when I made a speculative ‘purchase’ of an old punk music book. Even then, they tried and tried, kept me informed of what was going on and never charged me. They’re good like that; even though it is the law, many companies charge you at the time you place the order and not, as they should do, when the item is ready for despatch.
There are also sections that I haven’t even browsed yet, such as Health & Personal Care and Home & Garden. It’s almost as if the only thing they don’t sell is food!
Just Some Of The Items Available From Amazon!
Free delivery is currently provided with a minimum order of just £15, so there really is no reason not to take advantage of Amazon’s latest offers. Long gone are the days when any discount achieved on the internet is negated by a £5 delivery charge!
As I’m writing this piece on the 9th December, 2006, here’s a quick reminder – in order to receive your goods by Christmas, free delivery item orders need to be placed by the 18th of December. Failing that, you can place orders on the 19th and pay for delivery. Pay even more and you can wait until the 22nd! But we all like freebies, so the sensible advice is to get your order in by the 18th!
